De la Garza is responsible for information and physical security for Box. Prior to Box, he spent seven years at Citigroup in various roles, including global head of threat management and cyber intelligence - a role for which he oversaw the identification of emerging threats and the development of tactical and strategic responses to those threats, as well as managing any incidents that occurred. De la Garza also previously served as head of security architecture engineering for Citigroup's global consumer business, where he was responsible for all information security technology for the business line.
