Within Javelin's Risk and Fraud practice, Rachel leads research projects to help companies evaluate solutions and operational procedures that lead to effective practices in brand protection, customer relationships and loss avoidance, utilizing analysis of data from consumer security perspectives and behaviors, fraud victims, executive interviews and mystery shopper research.
Her previous work experience builds upon a strong background in writing and research spanning multiple industries, where she mostly engaged in qualitative research. Most recently, she served as an editor for an investment banking firm, reviewing financial valuation reports and performing secondary research. Ms. Kim graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a BA in English Literature and minors in Public Policy and Environmental Studies. She currently resides in San Francisco.
Areas of particular focus that Ms. Kim covers include online, telephone and mobile banking security, PCI compliance, authentication, as well as in-depth analysis of the latest identity fraud trends and data from the consumer perspective.

Director, AntiPhishing Solutions
John LaCour is the Director of AntiPhishing Solutions for MarkMonitor, the leading online brand protection company. In this role, John is responsible for all aspects of the MarkMonitor AntiPhishing service offering, including prevention, detection, and response to phishing and fraud against financial institutions, online services, ecommerce sites, and other organizations.
Prior to MarkMonitor, John was the Director of Product Management for RedSeal Systems where he led the successful introduction of their Security Risk Management solution. John has also served in various technical and management roles at leading security companies, including Check Point, NetScreen, Zone Labs, and others. He is active in security research and operations communities like the Antiphishing Working Group and Internet Security Operations Task Force. He is also a Certified Information Security Systems Professional. John studied computer science and economics at Louisiana State University and Northwestern University.
