An integrated platform must be more than the aggregation of tools under one banner to reduce operational costs and simplify user processes, said Netskope CEO Sanjay Beri.

Creating something truly integrated rather than just a collection of tools on a price list ensures openness and adaptability going forward, which he said is key given constant changes in the cybersecurity domain. Platforms should promote data sharing and interoperability among different vendors to enhance clients' security posture and foster innovation within the industry, according to Beri (see: Netskope CEO on the Security Perks, Perils of Generative AI).

"In security and networking, I'm a believer that there are a few core platforms," Beri said. "There isn't one. There is no one platform for all of security and networking. There never has been, and there never will be."

In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Beri also discussed:

  • What sets integrated platforms apart from service bundles;
  • The pros and cons of best of breed versus platform approaches to cyber;
  • The significance of openness and interoperability among platforms.

Beri has more than two decades of innovation and success in the cloud, networking and security industries, due to his unique business sense, technical acumen, vision for the future of the industry and unwavering focus on culture. Prior to starting Netskope in 2012, Beri served as vice president and general manager of Juniper Networks' secure access business unit, driving it to market leadership throughout his tenure. He also co-founded one of the world's first data center encryption companies, Ingrian Networks, and has held leadership positions across numerous other security and networking companies.
